We warmly welcome dogs to our establishment.
Welcome to Wilf's Café
The Café is situated at the back of The Mill Yard by the river. It’s easy to find and is well worth the effort. Based in the old bobbin loft with some of the old line workings still in place. We have traditional seating plus a cosy sofa area inside and outside decking overlooking the river Kent for warmer days.
Our menu starts with stupendous traditional breakfasts, lovely lunches with daily specials, cakes, cream teas & much more. We bake our own bread & cakes, & cook nearly all our own food so we know what goes into it if you have any dietary needs.
Not just a Café we provide other services including Outside catering & buffets, ‘Wilf’s Away’ and Venue for hire for all occasions… please explore our website to discover more.

Relax & Refuel
Our Café in Staveley is the hub of our business. It provides good food, all made on the premises, in a tranquil, riverside setting with decking overlooking the River Kent, as well as plenty of room inside for when the weather is less kind.
There is also a ‘Quiet Zone’ sofa area downstairs!
Our menu has something for everyone and we pride ourselves on a fast, friendly service. You can always bring a pint from the Hawkshead bar across to us!
Much more than just a Café!
We offer a range of outside catering services for all kinds of functions. A Wedding anniversary, a significant birthday, a family get together, a group celebration? We have carefully thought out all of Wilf’s Buffet Menus to give a balance that caters for a variety of diets and is visually (and actually) very appetising! If, however, these don’t quite fit the bill we are happy to quote for a bespoke buffet. Do you want to hire the Café, food for your own venue, or Ready Meals? Check under the different headings for details & menus.
The Café is also available to hire the evening
A minimum of £50 deposit is required to confirm the booking. Non returnable if cancelled within 4 weeks of hire date & balance due on presentation / when numbers confirmed.
We are not licenced but you are welcome to bring your own alcohol, (we can supply glasses for wine but not beer).
Catering to someone else?
Have you a function that you would just like to leave the catering to someone else? We deliver, FREE, within a 10 mile radius of Staveley.
